Abstract

1,172,195. Container closures. HAFU HERSTELLUNG UND VERTRIEB KOSMETISCHER ERZEUGNISSE HANS JOACHIM BRINGEZU & CO. 25 March, 1968 [25 March, 1967], No. 14195/68. Heading B8T. A captive screw closure for containers has an opening in its end wall which is closed by a pin 6 when the cap is screwed down. An annular bead 3 on the inner wall of the cap can engage with axially offset but diametrically opposed cams 12 and 13, preventing the cap from being freed while it is being unscrewed. The slight clearance between cap and bottle neck threads enables the cap to be tilted during initial fitting so that bead 3 can slide over each locking cam 12 and 13 in turn, even if cap and neck were made of quite rigid material. The chamfered upper faces of the cams 12a, 13a, Fig. 3 (not shown), and the triangular cross-section of the bead 3 facilitate this initial fitting.
