Abstract

117,077. Diebold, F. June 16, 1917, [Convention date]. Air, gas, and steam pressure sprayers; charging spray with electricity. - Liquid is fed through tubes 7, 8, controlled by rods 9, to both sides of a slot 2 in a plate 5, where it is atomized by means of a jet of air, gas, or steam forced through the slot from the conduit 1. The cone of spray is further atomized by passing it through the metal ring 10 and the ring of points 11, the rings 10, 11 being insulated front one another and connected to the poles of a battery so that the former is positively and the latter negatively charged. All parts of the apparatus which come in contact with the liquid arc formed of glass or porcelain.
