Abstract
202,604. Soc. de Metallisation. Aug. 18, 1922, [Convention date]. Blowpipe burners. - Apparatus for spraying fusible materials, e.g. metal, glass, or enamel, comprises a nozzle having a central duct 1, delivering a metal wire or other substance, or powdered material and outer ducts 2, 4, supplying respectively a combustible gas mixture at low pressure and air or a combustion supporting gas at relatively higher pressure. At the outlet of the duct 2 is provided a combustion and fusion chamber 3, from which the fused substance is projected by the current of air or gas issuing at high speed from the duct 4 which is of reduced section at its forward end. The outer wall of either of the outer ducts may be adjustably mounted on its support so as to vary the spraying conditions and grooves may be provided within the ducts to guide the gases.
