Abstract

1,170,532. Chimney blocks. F. SCHIEDEL, [trading as FRITZ SCHIEDEL - KAMINWERK]. 17 Jan., 1967 [8 Feb., 1966], No. 2545/67. Heading F4J. A set of chimney bricks for assembling round chimneys wherein the set contains two shapes of bricks I and II, said first brick I having two concavely curved sides 4, 5 corresponding to the circular cross-section of the chamotte lining 12, said second brick II having a concavely curved projection 10 also corresponding to said circular cross-section of pipe 12, so that said bricks fit together tightly around the chimney as shown in Fig. 3. Brick I also contains rows of cells 6, 7, 8, 9 to enable said brick to be split up into portions Ia, Ib and a third portion Ic (Fig. 5) of substantially rhomboid shape with concavely curved sides. Round chimneys can thus be formed with one or two or more smoke flues from two basic shapes of bricks (Figs. 4 and 5).
