Abstract
1,169,673. Traction and take-up winches. ATLAS-MAK MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. 5 July, 1968 [7 July, 1967], No. 32092/68. Heading B8B. A hauling winch for a plastic hawser 1 includes traction pulleys 2a, 2b and a take-up pulley 10 driven by separate oil motors 3, 11 f om a common pump 15, the two oil motors producing torques of a predetermined ratio at the pulleys. Gearing 4, 5, 6 between the traction pulleys 2a, 2b and the motor 3 ensures that the two pulleys rotate in the same direction and with a greater torque than that at the take-up pulley 10, for equal torque motors 3 and 11. The speed of hauling in or paying out is controlled by a lever 16 linked to the flow regulator pump 15. A valve 17 is provided to shortcircuit the oil in the motor 11 so that all the supply from the pump 15 is supplied to the traction motor 3 for rapid pay-out of the hawser, the oil in the motor 11 providing a light resistance to pay-out from the pulley 10. For rapid hauling in, the hawser is lifted off the traction pulleys and hauled in directly on the pulley 10, the traction pulley motor 3 being braked so that the whole oil supply is fed to the motor 11.
