Abstract

1,166,061. Injection moulding machines. FOSTER YATES & THOM Ltd. 11 Aug., 1967 [19 Aug., 1966], No. 37257/66. Heading B5A. Injection moulding apparatus comprises a worm 2 rotatable in a plasticizing cylinder 1 which is connected to an injection cylinder 10 having an injection piston 13 therein, the position of the worm 2 being adjustable relative to the cylinder 1 by means of a ram 4. Adjustable or interchangeable restrictions (8a), Fig. 3 (not shown), and (17a), Fig. 2 (not shown), are provided in a nozzle 8 of the plasticizing cylinder and an injection nozzle 17 respectively. A quick-release coupling 9 is provided between the cylinders 1 and 10. When the apparatus is moved away from a mould 20 the nozzle 17 is automatically shut off.
