Abstract

1,165,265. Seals for floating roofs. HELMERICH & PAYNE, Inc. 6 Feb., 1967 [9 Feb., 1966], No. 5643/67. Heading E1T. A secondary seal for the floating roof of a storage tank consists, of a flexible member 40 which is shaped as shown and provided with spring means 80 to ride over weld spots in the tank, opposed grooves 47, 48 to accommodate a stiffening member, a groove 41 for positioning purposes and a groove 43 to receive a clamping insert. For modified forms of spring means Figs. 5-8 (not shown), should be referred to.
