Abstract
1,164,303. Moulding moulds. SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER A.B. 26 Sept., 1966, No. 42790/66. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B3] Mould sand (or viscid material for subsequent hardening) is introduced into a flask 26 around a screw-threaded pattern 28 of multi-start form on a shaft 30 bearing a cylindrical portion 34 with a helical groove 36 for coaction with a pin-like projection at the end of a screw 38 in a fixed sleeve 24 for guiding the portion 34. Lifting of the pattern 28, e.g. by means of an eye-bolt 40 rotatably mounted at the top of the shaft 30 or by means of a jack below a lower extension 30a of the shaft, causes the pattern 28 to rotate and screw out of the mould, possibly under braking or assisted rotation applied by a hand wheel 42 which can be used alone for screwing out the pattern. The shaft may be in two parts joined by a releasable coupling 44.
