Abstract
1,164,106. Cyclone separators.KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. 19 Oct., 1966 [6 Nov., 1965; 21 March, 1966], No. 46691/66. Heading B2P. [Also in Division F4] Dry powdered cement raw material for heat treatment with hot gas in centrifugal separator 12 is introduced thereto through annular passage 17 as a dispersed uniformly divided solid suspension in a subsidiary gas from a whirling device 16. Subsidiary gas leaves through the annular gap as shown by arrow, 15 and is recirculated by pump 15 together with fresh raw material from 14 to whirling device 16. Hot gas is introduced tangentially from pipe 11 into separator 12 to form a rotating gas stream and leaves via pipe 13. The material for treatment is introduced through annular gaps 17 and is caused by the rotating gas stream to move partly with the gas stream and partly across it towards the separator wall. In the embodiment of Fig. 1 (not shown) part of the used heating gas is recycled for use as the subsidiary gas. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 (not shown), two apparatus similar to Fig. 1 are used in parallel for a first stage, and the granular products are fed into a single apparatus for a second stage treatment.
