Abstract
1,163,640. Steel pins or nails. HILTI A. G. Dec.20, 1967 [Jan.23, 1967], No.57844/67. Heading C7A. Pins, nails and other fasteners for driving into iron, steel or concrete are made from a steel comprising:- C 0À5 - 0À8% Cr 0À5 - 1-2% Mn 0À5 - 1À2% Si 0À7 - 2% P not more than 0À035% S not more than 0À035% Mo up to 0À5% V up to 0À5% the balance, apart from incidental impurities, being iron and having a predominantly bainitic structure and a hardness of 55-58RC. The alloy is heated at 850-950 ‹C. for 10-30 minutes, rapidly cooled to 200-280‹C. where it is isothermally treated for 30-120 minutes and then cooled to room temperature.
