Abstract

1,162,529. Colour television tube. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 12 Dec., 1966 [15 Dec., 1965], No. 55525/66. Heading H1D. A colour TV tube comprises, adjacent the screen, a rectangular colour selection electrode 2 suspended by at least three members 15 which each extend between the electrode periphery and a supporting point 6, on the tube wall, the straight line M9<SP>1</SP> joining the securing point 9<SP>1</SP> of each mounting member on the electrode at an electrode temperature midway between expected limits to the normal projection M of the centre of the electrode on to a plane containing the securing points being tangential to the locus described by the securing point with temperature changes. A slightly curved perforated metal plate electrode having a frame 3 is mounted by leaf springs 15 welded to the frame and having apertures fitting over conical glass or fused-in metal studs 6, 7, 8.
