Abstract

1,161,330. Vehicle seats. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. 17 Nov., 1966 [17 Dec., 1965], No. 51638/66. Heading A4J. A head-rest 8 with a concave rear face is pivotally mounted in bearings 17 on the ends of straps 15 fixed to the frame of the back-rest (5) of a vehicle seat and the head-rest is secured in adjusted position by the engagement of conical plugs (13) on the head-rest with female conical portions in the bearings 17. The head-rest is locked in adjusted position either by means of screws 19 or eccentric cams (20, Figs. 5, 6) on the ends 18a of a shaft (18) extending through the co-operating plugs (13) and bearings 17. The head-rest can be swung to an out-of-use position in which the concave rear face of the head-rest mates snugly with the upper portion of the seat back.
