Abstract
1,160,360. E.H.D. generators. GOURDINE SYSTEMS Inc. 5 Aug., 1966 [5 Aug., 1965], No. 55083/68. Divided out of 1,154,205. Heading H2A. An E.G.D. generator includes two ducts for the flow of gas, e.g. power station smoke, the corona electrode of one duct being energized by the corona electrode of the other. As described, the system comprises a pair of converters, 100, 101, converter 100 including a nozzle-forming corona electrode 105, an attractor electrode 106 and a shield electrode 107, converter 101 being similar. Switching 129, 130 permits operation in A.C. or D.C. modes. In the A.C. mode the frequency is determined by the time constants of resistors 137. 138 and capacitors 134, 135.
