[Also in Division C7] A low hydrogen manual arc welding electrode consists of a core of mild steel, e.g., rimming steel, and a flux coating of the lime/fluoride type containing at least 8% iron powder of the following composition:- the flux/core weight ratio being between 1: 3.5 5 and 1-2; 1. The coating may have the following composition:- calcium carbonate .. .. .. 30% calcium fluoride .. .. .. 17% rutile .. .. .. .. .. 8% ferro-manganese (80% Mn) .... . 3% ferro-silicon (45% Si) ...... . 8% ferro-titanium (40% Ti) .. .. 2% iron powder .. .. .. .. 32% with a binder of sodium and/or potassium silicate. The following constituents are also referred to:-alloying elements (e.g., Ni, Cr, Mo, V) silica, ilmenite, aluminium silicate, magnesium minerals, ferro-aluminium and ferro-zirconium.
