Abstract

1,158,886. Electric incandescent lamps. BRITISH LIGHTING INDUSTRIES Ltd. 21 May, 1968 [9 June, 1967], No. 26821/67. Heading H1F. In a twin filament lamp the filament legs 12 are moulded into a bridge 13 and the portions 14 of the legs which project on the further side of the bridge are embedded in the pinch seal 21 thereby avoiding the need for separate lead-in wires. Preferably the lamp contains an inert gas and halogen filling and the envelope 20 and bridge 13 are made of quartz. The portions 14 are spot welded to molybdenum foils 15, 16 which are connected by pins 17 to the casing and to a pair of insulated contacts, respectively, of the lamp cap. More than two filaments may be provided.
