A skiving machine is provided with adjustable guiding elements 1 and 106, Fig. 4, for adjusting the thickness, width and angle of skiving with respect to the feeding device 116 and skiving knife 64, the element 1 for adjusting the thickness and angle of skiving being adjustable by means of a pair of wedges 14, 21, Fig. 1, guided in supports 30 controlled by a pair of pivotallymounted bell-crank levers 44, 45 in turn controlled by adjustable spring-loaded stops 49 of a stop drum 53 containing slidable bolts 55 which are urged against the stops 49 by cams 59 fixed on cam drums 58, 61 which are angularly adjustable independently on the drum 53 by means of a control disc 65 provided with bolts 67 engageable alternatively by electromagnetically-controlled stops (79, 80), Fig. 3 (not shown), the levers 44, 45 also controlling slidable bolts 50, one for each support 30, each engageable with a slidable switch 51 which is connected to an electromagnet 105, Fig. 4, controlling the element 106, which is removable, for adjusting the skiving width. A fixed adjustable guide 104 determines another skiving width. The cam drums 58, 61 are linked to one another by means of gears 64 keyed to a shaft 63. The cam drums are coupled with the stop drum 53 by means of an axially-shiftable manually-controlled clutch 95, 102.
