Abstract

1,156,957. Threshold circuit. CORNING GLASS WORKS. 19 July, 1967 [27 July, 1966], No. 33203/67. Heading G4P. [Also in Division G3] A threshold circuit with an adjustable bias comprises a proportional amplifier having a power jet 42, Fig. 2, and two control inputs 52, 56 to the right-hand one of which the bias is applied, and a bi-stable wall-attachment amplifier having a main jet 26 and two control inputs 34, 36 connected, as shown, to the outputs of the proportional amplifier. In operation the steady bias directs the power stream in the proportional amplifier along the left-hand channel 44, which causes the bi-stable amplifier to direct its power stream to its right-hand output channel 32, and the bi-stable amplifier only switches to its other condition when, and for the duration of which, a control signal 56 applied to the proportional amplifier exceeds the bias signal. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown) three stages of proportional amplification prior to the bi-stable amplifier are used.
