Abstract

1,156,908. Endless conveyers. CRONE & TAYLOR (ENG.) Ltd. 13 May, 1968 [21 June, 1967], No.28575/67. Heading B8A. A conveyer belt 13 may be bent locally into an S-shape from its normal configuration (Fig. 2, not shown) so as to discharge material to another conveyer 19. The belt is bent by the action of arms 16 carrying pulleys 17, 18. The arms 16 are mounted adjacent a gap in the support stringers 11 of the belt 13. A section 22 of the stringers 13, is adapted to pivot upwardly automatically when the arms are turned into the belt bending position. The belt 13 may be reversible in which case there may be at least one other belt bending station the latter being adapted to be operated in respect of the reverse direction of travel of the belt 13.
