Abstract

1,155,382. Valves. EXPERT INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS Ltd. 8 July, 1966 [13 July, 1965], No. 29606/65. Heading F2V. [Also in Division H1] In a solenoid-operated valve a resilient member is provided between the armature and a resiliently loaded valve. An annular solenoid coil 4 is mounted within a magnetizable casing 2 on a base-plate 3. A magnetizable guide member 7 retains a non-magnetic member 9 and a magnetizable core piece 5 by means of a circlip 8. A spring 12 is mounted within a cylindrical armature 1 having a screw 13 to adjust the effective length of the spring and a plug 14 to adjust the loading on the spring. An actuating pin 11 acts through non-magnetic bush 10 on actuating rod 15 of a fluid flow control valve. By actuating plug 14 and screw 13, the actuating solenoid may be matched against the resiliency of the control valve and its length of travel.
