A casting comprises a solid body embedded in a solidified casting resin formed by hardening a mixture consisting of resin, hardener with or without accelerator, inorganic filler having a grain size finer than size 280 grit and fibres 0À5-3 mm. long. 5-50 Pts. by wt. of fibres are used per 100 pts. by wt. of resin. Examples describe the use of casting resins comprising a commercial cycloaliphatic epoxy resin, a commercial cycloaliphatic anhydride hardener, a commercial tertiary amine accelerator, 1 mm. glass fibres and, as filler, corundum, annealed petalite, or quartz with embedded in the casting a sharp-edged copper plate.
