Abstract

1,152,957. Coatings. C. A. CREBER. 23 April, 1968 [24 April, 1967], No. 50961/66. Heading B2K. [Also in Division F1] The surfaces of the combustion chamber, cylinder wall, inlet and exhaust passages, valve guides and tappet valve heads and stems are coated with P.T.F.E. The P.T.F.E. may be applied by spraying or dipping after which excess liquid is removed by spinning or pressure or vacuum processes. The coating is then dried at a temperature of not more than 90‹C and sintered at a temperature of 385-400‹C followed by quenching.
