[Also in Division F4] Apparatus for storing and supplying a protective mixture of inert gas and reducing gas to a metal melt and to metals being annealed, soldered and welded comprises a tank 1 containing liquid nitrogen or liquid argon, and a bottle 5 containing compressed hydrogen, carbon monoxide or low boiling hydrocarbon gas connected to the vapour or liquid space of tank 1 according to whether valve 8 or 7 is open, and a vaporizer 3 to which the liquid inert gas containing dissolved reducing gas is supplied through a valve 2 and from which the protective gas mixture is withdrawn through a duct 4.
