Abstract

1,151,816. Electromagnetic contactors. ZAKLADY APARATURY ELEKTRYCZNEJ "ELESTER". 3 April, 1967, No. 15135/67. Heading H1N. A socket unit 2 arranged to receive the plug connectors 23 of an electromagnetic contactor 1 has bent resilient plates 12 forming the sockets which are bent at 20 to engage the walls 21 of a socket body 18. Terminal means 19 are attached to the plates 12 and to brackets 16 which bear against the body 18 to transmit forces applied during connection of electrical conductors. The contactor is retained on the face plate 18 of the socket unit 2 by clips 3 having apertures 4 which pass over lugs 5 of the contactor housing 33 so that compression springs 6 urge the clips to rock about bends 9 (anticlockwise in Fig. 4). The contactor 1 has an E-shaped armature 34 with its centre limb always within a coil former having projections (Fig. 6, not shown) for guiding the armature. The armature biasing springs 28 can be adjusted by means of seating screens 32. The contactor contacts are located in separate chambers in inserts of arc resistant material (Fig. 7), and the chambers have vents leading to holes in the plate 18.
