1,151,279. Controlling propeller pitch. KAMOME PROPELLER K.K. 13 June, 1967 [7 Sept., 1966], No. 27220/67. Heading B7V. A ship's propeller drive and pitch controlling apparatus in which an engine shaft 1 is connected by a reduction gear 3, 4 with a propeller shaft assembly consisting of a propeller shaft 13, flange couplings 22 and the gear-wheel axle 2 of the reduction gear with an axial bore in the assembly, has a propeller pitch controlling shaft assembly C consisting of a non-rotating fore shaft 31 and a rotating aft shaft 32 in said bore, which shafts 31, 32 are connected by a coupling sleeve G, and actuated by pressure oil operating apparatus H located outside of the casing of the reduction gear, the piston 16 of the apparatus H being secured on the fore end of the fore central shaft 31 which is constrained by an arm 30 (on tail shaft 18) and a guide member 30 (on the casing) to slide axially but not to rotate.
