Abstract

1,148,329. Steering vehicles. SOC. ANON. ANDRE CITROEN. 22 July, 1966 [3 Aug., 1965], No. 33173/66. Heading B7H. A power-steering system is operated by a handlebar 2 having a shaft 1 connected to the steering mechanism, and having a lever 3 fast therewith to which is pivoted a pair of links 5 each being associated with a piston 7 operating in a cylinder 8, the two cylinders being connected by a pipe 9 containing a throttling orifice 10. In a modification, the throttling means comprises a tube 13 into which depends a slide 12 acted upon by a centrifugal governor 14 driven by the engine so that the slide 12 depends further into the tube 13 at higher vehicle speeds so increasing the resistance to steering the vehicle.
