Abstract

1,147,660. Stringer tapes. LIGHTNING FASTENERS Ltd. 10 Nov., 1967 [24 Nov., 1966], No. 52690/66. Heading E2S. The stringer tape of a sliding clasp fastener of the concealed element type has that portion 8 which is folded over the limb 4 of the coupling elements 2 formed from warp threads which are more resiliently extensible than the warp threads in the other portions of the tape so that when a slider causes curvature of the stringer, Fig. 2 (not shown), the tension in the tape is absorbed by the extension of these threads. Resiliently extensible warp threads may be of nylon crimped in an unextended state, bulked yarns, or uncrimped filaments of resilient plastics material.
