A window assembly in which the rectangular sash is capable of pivoting about any one of the four sides of the rectangular main frame each vertical side of the sash is split longitudinally in two parts, the first part being nearest the glass 16 and hinged to the second part by hinges 23, the second part having a locking bar 6B manually manipulated to lock the second part to the main frame, so that one side or the other may be freed and the sash with the whole of the feed style rotated about the hinges 23 on the opposite side of the sash. To open the sash about a top horizontal axis the locking bars 6B are completely withdrawn from the main frame cill 2 and the upper bars only partially withdrawn from the frame head and the sash is supported by top and bottom horizontally sliding bars 19 slidable in tubes 20 relative to the main frame and lockable in required position by locking pins 10A, the sash then turning on lugs 18 rocking in holes 17B in a bracket 17, Fig. 3 mounted at the top of the main frame styles 4, Fig. 11. The bar 19 is capable of some transverse movement and to this end it is narrower (Fig. 6) from the tube 20 and its spherical end 19A bears in a slot in a plate 19B. To open the sash about a bottom axis, Fig. 7, the upper and lower locking bars are both completely withdrawn from the main frame and the sash can pivot on lugs similar to lug 18, rockable in holes 17B brackets 17 mounted on the lower frame rail.
