Abstract

1,140,957. Elevated floors. DENCO MILLER Ltd. 6 July, 1967 [11 July, 1966], No. 31019/66. Addition to 1,035,817. Heading E1W. A floor construction comprises joists 12 with upper coplanar surfaces and a floor of abutting rectangular tiles having opposite sides resting on adjacent joists 12 on a row of adjustable supports, at leßst one joist 12 having a channel cross section with inward lips 13, along which at least one slider 14 with an internal screw thread to engage a support bar or tube slides. At least one support is an upright bar or tube rotatably seated in a recess of a base member and screw-threaded for attachment to a joist, e.g. at the slider 14, to adjust its height by rotation. The joist may be of box-section. A locknut .may be at the top of the bar or tube and above it may be a platform to support secondary joists.
