Abstract
1,139,540. Shuttleless-looms. CROMPTON & KNOWLES CORP. 22 Sept., 1967 [22 Sept., 1966], No. 43162/67. Heading D1E. In a shuttleless loom in which the weft 30 is inserted by a permanently threaded eyed needle 32 and a selvedge is formed by a selvedge knitting needle 36 the slay, which moves in an elliptical path, carries a yarn guide 38 which is below the selvedge knitting needle when the slay is in its rearmost position and above it when in its forward position. Depending on the adjustment of either needle the knitted loops may be formed only in the selvedge yarns or the weft looms, and selvedge yarns may be formed as double loops.
