Abstract

1,137,417. Drying printed sheets. SCREEN PRINTING MACHINERY Ltd. 14 Aug., 1967 [27 May, 1966], No. 24027/66. Heading F4G. Printed sheets from conveyers 24, 22 are conveyed through a drying apparatus comprising superposed apertured plenums 10, 12 having a blower (not shown), arranged to blow air into alternate plenums 10, and for drawing air out of adjacent alternate plenums 12, the sheets being conveyed between adjacent plenums in sequence by a chain conveyer 14 having grippers 16 for releasably securing the leading edge of each sheet. The grippers are operable by a closing cam 18 adjacent the conveyer 24, and an opening cam 20 adjacent a drop-off box 26. Tapes may stretch along the plenums between the chains of the conveyer and rotate therewith to support the centres and trailing edges of the sheets.
