Abstract

1,086,460. Sheet delivering and stacking apparatus. JAGENBERG-WERKE A.G. June 29, 1965 [July 30, 1964], No. 27452/65. Heading B6H. In an apparatus for delivering and stacking sheets, the sheets 4, Fig. 1, which are cut from a web I by a rotary transverse cutter 3 are advanced between conveyers 6 and 7 moving at a higher speed to a conveyer 8, moving at a lower speed to effect overlapping of the moving stream of sheets, which subsequently are stacked on a stack 19. To slow down the sheets after they have left the conveyer belt 7 there is provided a transfer table 16, Fig. 2, and a suction cylinder 10. The transfer table 16 is provided with a blower section 17 to lift the leading edge of the succeeding sheets to prevent them abutting the trailing edge of the preceding sheets. The transfer table is further provided with suction perforations 18 which are co-operating with perforations 9, Fig. 3, in the conveyer belt 8 and slots 11 in the suction cylinder 10 to act on the trailing edge of the sheets 4 and slow them down to the speed of the conveyer belt 8 operating in conjunction with overlying faster conveyer belt 7. To facilitate overlapping the moving plane of the conveyer belt 8 is disposed below the plane of the conveyer belt 7. The rotary cylinder 10 is co-operating with a further rotary cylinder 12, having diametrally opposed and axially extending slots 13, which alternately come into periodic contact with a slot 15 of a stationary vacuum cylinder 15. The relative speed between the cylinders 10 and 12 is such that the slots 13 are overlapping the slots 15 only when a trailing edge of a sheet passes along the transfer table 16 and part -of the relevant periphery of the suction cylinder 10.
