Abstract

1,137,307. Grinding. H. JUILLERAT. 18 July, 1967 [26 July, 1966], No. 33035/67. Heading B3D. A grinding wheel consists of a bearing flange 1 and an intermediate flange 8 on the planar surface of which a diamond crown 14 is glued. The flange 1 has a central chamber 6 communicating through openings 5 between ribs 4 with an annular channel 3. The flange 8 has projections 10 having oblique walls 11, 12, the projections engaging in the channel 3 and defining, with ribs 4, chambers communicating with the chamber 6 and with openings 13 aligned with similar openings in the diamond crown 14. In operation, a vacuum is formed in the chambers to centrifuge a spray of lubricant in the hollow 6 through the chambers and the opening 14 to the abrasive surface. The grinding surface may be cylindrical or conical in other embodiments.
