Abstract

1,136,931. Sack filling machines. FISONS FERTILIZERS Ltd. 16 Jan., 1967 [28 Jan., 1966; 21 April, 1966], Nos. 3863/66 and 17435/66. Heading B8C. A sack filling machine includes a series of hoppers 1 drawn round a track 2 consisting of two straight runs joined by curved end sections, sack attaching 26 and weigh-filling 27 stations being located each on opposite straight runs and the hoppers each carrying sack mouth holding and opening means. Each hopper is attached to a carriage located by rollers 5, 25 and pulled round the track by a central rotor 10 and linkage 5-9. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 5 (not shown), the arms such as 8 are guideways for rods (42) sliding radially and pivoted to the hopper carriages. The hoppers carry spring elements 13, 14 over which the sacks are fitted by hand at the portion 3 of the track. Also pivoted on each hopper are plates 16, 17 having rollers 28, 29 which are engaged by stationary rails 30, 31 to hinge outwards and spread the bag mouth. At the filling station 27, the plates press the bag against rollers 32, 33 and grip it while the contents is settled by a vibratory conveyer 36. The rollers 28, 29 then clear the rails and release the sack mouth sack and the hopper rises to leave the filled sack. The sack drops on to a vibratory conveyer 36 to settle the contents.
