Abstract
1,133,063. Feed hoppers for textile treatment machines. TEMAFA, TEXTILMASCHINENFABRIK MEISSNER MORGNER & CO. G.m.b.H. 13 April, 1967 [23 Jan., 1967], No. 17001/67. Heading D1N. A hopper for feeding fibres and like material to a preparatory textile treatment machine comprises a shaft 2 surmounted by a feed head 3 into which a pneumatic conveyor pipe 5 leads, at least one wall of the head being air-pervious through which the conveying air passes into a wind box 4 which has a dust bag 8 pendantly and releasably attached to its outlet. Additionally a slack gauze fabric 13 is joined to the edges of the air pervious wall(s) of the head 3 and the incoming air expands the fabric into contact with the wall(s). The gauze fabric retains the finer fibres and allows only dust to penetrate into the dust bags 8. On temporary interruption of the air blast the fabric becomes slack and thus dislodges fibres which have adhered thereto.
