1,130,326. Pressure-resisting doors. G. CHRISTOFF. 24 Jan., 1966 [22 Jan., 1965], No. 3047/66. Heading F2P. The sealing rings 2 and 4 of a pressure vessel 1 and cover 3 are provided with grooved segments which are engaged by threaded cam segments 9, 9<SP>1</SP> of opposite pitch and on a rotatable locking ring 8 mounting a tongue 20 formed with a stepped cam track. By pushing in a ram 17, slidable in a guide 16, the ram disengages from the tongue 20 and causes a piston 28 of a valve 27 to disengage from the guide 16 and to open the valve, so that the vessel is vented to atmosphere whereafter by depressing the ram handle 17<SP>1</SP> in the cam track a bolt 15 is withdrawn from between the cam segments to allow the ring 8 to be rotated and the cover removed.
