Abstract

1,127,380. Heating water; heat exchanger tubes. RUNTALTHERM A.G. 28 June, 1967 [1 July, 1966], No. 29956/67. Headings F4A and F4S. A boiler comprises a burner 11 and tube means 1 each of which contains three water channels 2-4, Fig. 3, of which the upper and lower channels 3, 2, carry water circulating in a heating system whilst the middle channel 4 carries the through-flow domestic hot water. The heating water circulates through the channels 2, 3 in parallel, the ends of the channels in each tube 1 being connected by cross-over tubes 6, 7, so that the water flows alternately through upper and lower channels in adjacent tubes 1. The channels 4 of adjacent tubes 1 are interconnected by tubes 5. Fins 8 are provided on the tubes. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the tubes 1 are formed by half sections 14, 15, joined together and in Fig. 5 the channel 4 is formed by a rectangular section tube and the channels 2, 3, by U-section members secured to the sides of tube 4. Zig-zag fins may be provided between the sides of the tubes 1.
