Abstract

1,126,677. Knitting. KAYSER BONDOR Ltd. 9 Jan., 1967 [13 Jan., 1966], No. 1101/67. Heading D1K. A circularly knitted compressive structure, as shown in Fig. 1 comprises a sequence of courses comprising knitting at least one course of an elastomeric yarn such as spandex, followed by at least two courses of inelastic yarns such as opposite hand synthetic yarns one of which is knitted in a tuck formation in alternate wales in the first sequence followed by it being knitted in a tuck formation in the intermediate wales in the following sequence. The loops of the tuck course are drawn larger and cause the loops of the previous inelastic yarns combined with the tuck loops to rob yarn from adjoining loops such that the yarn in the latter loops is straightened out and the following course yarn caused to distort around it to form locking loops within the bight of the loops of the elastomeric yarn. Other yarn sequences can be achieved on a three, four or more feeder circular machine.
