Abstract

1,125,186. Bottle assembly; caps for bottles. ALLIED CHEMICAL CORP. 11 Nov., 1966 [19 Nov., 1965], No. 50747/66. Headings B8D and B8T. A container assembly comprises a bottle 1 having a flange 10 which forms a seating for the apertured upper end 12 of a protective casing 11 secured to the flange 10 by an internally screw-threaded collar 9. After the bottle is secured in the casing 11, padding 20 is inserted and a base member crimped or seamed to the casing. A gasket 19 forms a seal round the bottle neck, and the upper end of the neck, of reduced diameter, is screw-threaded to receive a cap 7. An outer cap 16 engages screw-threads on the outside of the collar 9. The screwthreaded parts of the assembly may be replaced by friction-fitted parts. The bottle may be of glass or porcelain, and the casing of sheet metal, thermosetting or thermoplastic resin. The padding may be of polyurethane foam, corrugated fibre board, felt, cotton or excelsior.
