Abstract

1,125,153. Brake pedal controls. MASSEYFERGUSON (AUSTRALIA) Ltd. 12 Jan., 1966, No. 4513/65. Heading F2E. [Also in Division B7] Actuation of the clutch pedal 4 of a combine harvester is prevented when the brake pedal 3 is locked in a depressed position to act as a parking brake. Ratchet teeth 8 secured to the brake pedal 3 are engageable by a pawl 7 positioned by overcentring a spring 15 connected to a pin 14 on an arm 13 secured to a shaft 11 carrying the pawl 7. A plate 18 on the clutch pedal 4 abuts the pin 14 when the pawl 7 is engaged with the teeth 8 thereby preventing depression of the clutch pedal 4 or release of the clutch pedal 4 if depressed. The brake is released by first depressing the brake pedal 3 to relieve the load on the pawl 7 and then moving the pawl 7 into an inoperative position by either kicking the arm 14 or depressing the clutch pedal 4.
