Abstract

1,123,324. Electric cut-outs. DEUTSCHE VITROHM G.m.b.H. & Co. 12 Aug., 1966 [24 Aug., 1965], No. 36175/66. Heading H2G. [Also in Division H1] A fusible connection to a resistor located in a longitudinal bore 2 in a ceramic housing 1 is made through a spring contact arm 13 integral with a slide portion 12 engaged in a dovetail groove on the side of the housing; the arm being biased inwardly until its free end engages the end of a fixed contact 5, and is retained in this position by a bead of solder which connects the ends and is arranged to melt and release the contact on the occurrence of an overload. An extension 20 forms a bracket by which the resistor and housing may be mounted on a support. The slide portion may be anchored in the groove by thermally resistant putty. The spaces around the resistor within the bore may be grouted with quartz sand and silicones.
