A device for washing and removing stones from grain comprises a washing trough 1 in which are disposed an upper and lower pair of conveyer worms 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, 3, 3<SP>1</SP> which have at the ends of their shafts worm wheels 9, 9<SP>1</SP>, 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, and which are driven by driving element 4 via a worm gear 5 which is mounted vertically between the conveyer worms and has two worms 6, 7 engaging with the worm wheels. One of the worms of the gear 5 may have a left hand thread, and the other may have a right hand thread. The upper pair of worms 2, 2<SP>1</SP> convey the washed grain to a centrifugal drier and the lower pair 3, 3<SP>1</SP> convey the stones to an outlet.
