Abstract

1,122,274. Change-speed control. DAVID BROWN TRACTORS Ltd. 21 Dec., 1966 [21 Jan., 1966], No. 2775/66. Heading F2D. In a gear shift mechanism a selector fork 15 is resiliently connected by springs 33 to a selector rod 13 which is fast with pistons 21, 22 subjected to hydraulic pressure for establishing a ratio. The springs permit relative movement between the fork and the rod should the clutch teeth abut during engagement. As shown, two forks are resiliently connected to respective rods 13, 10, and an interlock ball 27 engages indents 28, 29 to ensure that a rod can only be shifted when the other is in its neutral position.
