Abstract

1,121,471. Swimming bath. THERMACIER. 28 June, 1965 [3 July, 1964], No. 27203/65. Heading A4N. A sunken swimming pool comprises a metal or plastics lining having stepped walls 6 and a floor 3, which lining is embedded in an excavation 1 formed in the natural ground with interposition of a mass of sand 2. The floor 3 is formed from rectangular plates A and the walls from profiled elements B, E and D or L-section elements G, Fig. 7 (not shown). Adjacent elements are riveted to a joint cover 18. Adjacent walls have corner elements C and moulded compensating elements F, Fig. 2 (not shown), inserted between them. The walls 6 are anchored at the top in a reinforced concrete paving 16, which may have a raised part 41 overlying a wave breaker 42, Fig. 10 (not shown), and may support starting blocks, masts, water lines or water polo goals. A perforated vertical partition wall 71 may be connected to the bottom half step 11 with a flooring 10 covering the enclosed space.
