Abstract

1,121,263. Refrigerating. STAL REFRIGERATION A.B. 5 July, 1966 [14 Sept., 1965], No. 30153/66. Heading F4H. In a refrigeration system having a plurality of evaporators 5 and a throttle valve 7 in each of the suction lines 6, return of oil to the compressor 1 is ensured by periodically opening valves 7, irrespective of load requirements, to increase the velocity of the gas in the suction lines. The resultant drop in evaporator temperature is limited by supplying gas from the compressor discharge to the evaporators through a condenser by-pass line; a check valve 8 is provided downstream of the by-pass line inlet. Valves 7 may be time-controlled.
