Abstract

1,119,814. Bearings. THORENS-FRANZ A.G. 20 Feb., 1967 [22 March, 1966], No. 7967/67. Heading F2A. A bearing for a device which drives a record or sound film support has a member provided with a conical surface which is coaxial with the axis of rotation of the bearing, and has another member provided with a resilient element which engages said conical surface. In an embodiment, a plate 1, Fig. 2, of a turn-table is carried by a shaft 24 having a cone-shaped portion 26 engaged by a resilient-member 27 and having a cone-shaped recess at the lower end thereof which has a ball 25 mounted therein. The resilient-member 27 is made of synthetic resin; has an annular portion 41, Fig. 3, from which extend six radial corrugated arms 31, the pairs of which are connected by segments 32; and is secured to a platen 3, Fig. 2, by screws 29. The platen 3 extends to a sleeve-shaped portion 19, the lower end of which is screw-threaded to receive a screw 20 therein, so that a washer 23 of synthetic resin is retained in the sleeve-shaped portion and is abutted by the ball 25 in the end of the shaft 24. In a modification, a cone-shaped portion is formed on the sleeve-shaped portion and the resilient-member is mounted on the shaft. In a turn-table the platen 3 is resiliently mounted on springs 12, Fig. 1, and the rotation of the plate 1 is effected by means of an electric motor 13 having a wheel 14 driving a rubbercovered wheel 15, an integral wheel 16 of which drives the plate I via a rubber band 17.
