A toy gun comprises a plurality of movably connected sectional members; means for holding them in a first position simulating a pocket knife, means for releasing said holding means, and means for maintaining said sectional members in a second position simulating a gun. The sectional means comprises a knife frame containing reciprocally mounted gun barrel which is telescoped into the knife frame in the first position and extend from the frame in the second position; a handle pivotally connected to the knife frame, the handle comprising a knife handle in the first position and a gun grip in the second position; a knife blade that can be opened and closed, rotatably mounted in the frame; a cap-storage magazine and cap feeding and firing mechanism mounted in the frame, including a lever, pivotally connected, that is within the knife frame in the first position and extends outside as a trigger in the second position. The feeding and firing mechanism comprises one spring for both feeding and firing, which loads a pawl which feeds a strip of caps into position adjacent to an anvil, and at the same time, raises a hammer to a position from which it can be slammed against the anvil to fire the caps, when the trigger is actuated.
