Abstract
1,118,023. Pneumatic conveyers. HENRY SIMON Ltd. 11 March, 1966 [26 March, 1965], No. 12878/65. Heading B8A. An air diffuser 4, 5 at the base of a hopper 1 1 is connected alternately to a source of compressed air or to atmosphere by a cyclically operated two-way valve 9. The valve is provided with ports 7, 15, 16 connected to the air diffuser., .the compressed air source and, atmosphere, respectively. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the valve is provided with an additional port (18) connected to the 11 air diffuser of a second hopper, the arrangement being such that the operational cycles of the two hoppers are identical but in antiphase. In a further embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the valve is adapted to be connected to a pair of manifolds connected to two banks of hoppers. The valve 9, Fig. 5 .(not shown), comprises a vane (25) provided with resilient sealing elements adapted to engage radial projections (26) on the inner wall of the valve housing.
