Sewing-machines; folding-devices.-An attachment to sewing-machines for turning back the marginal edges a<1>, b<1>, Fig. 4, of two pieces of fabric a, b which have been stitched in superposed relation preparatory to the application of a covering or fastening seam as c, Fig. 6, comprises a guiding-element 14, Figs. 2 and 4, having overhanging sides 15, and a yieldingly supported tongue 18 embraced by the sides 15 and lying between the edges thereof. In the construction described, the tongue 18 is formed on a spring plate 17, which, with the member 14, is secured to a slide-plate 13 adjustably held by a spring detent 19 in slide-ways provided on the plate 12 secured to the machine bed-plate.
