Abstract

1,113,452. Display packages. GILLETTE CO. 6 Sept., 1965 [24 Sept., 1964], No. 38033/65. Heading G5C. [Also in Division B8] A combined display stand and packaging device comprises a stand formed of base panels, 11, 12, Fig. 4, back panel 10 and cover panels 13, (14), Fig. 5 (not shown), the latter of which is foldable down over the contents, e.g. razor blade packages 28, during storage, Fig. 6 (not shown), the contents being supported on a bent rod 30-33 or (34), Fig. 3 (not shown), attached to the back and base panels. The stand is made from a single blank, Fig. 1 (not shown), the upright portion 30 of the rod being engaged in the back panel behind flaps formed by a sinuous cut 15, with tongues (16), (17), Fig. 5 (not shown), holding the rod in position. The angled foot portion 32, 33 of the rod is engaged in the base of the stand between the panels 11, 12, tongues 19 being inserted in a slit 18, to keep the panels 12 folded over and to hold the rod in position. The cover panel is formed by gluing panel 14 to the panel 13, flaps (22) in panel (14) being left unattached. Flaps (21), may be glued to the back of panel 10. To convert the package to a display stand, Fig. 5 (not shown), the panels 13, 14 are folded upright and the flaps (22) are folded outwardly, tabs (22) retaining the cover panels in their upright position.
