Abstract
1,113,154. Gas filters. DUSTRACTION Ltd. 18 April, 1967 [19 Jan., 1966], No. 2450/66. Heading BIT. An inward-flow gas filter element comprises a filter bag ll enclosing a skeleton frame of axial rods 14 spaced by star shaped members (15) (Figs. 1, 4, not shown), the bag being a loose fit in the central region whereby it is drawn into pleated form during filtration but expands to smooth pleats out to shake off dust during reverse flow cleaning. Rods 14 and members (15) are metal, plastics or plastics-coated metal and welded together. Rods 14 are bent inwards and welded to a disc or spider (Fig. 3, not shown), at their lower ends and welded to neck 13 at the top. The bag has a similar neck I 2a (Fig. 2, not shown), which is folded over neck 13 and clamped against tube plate 23 when a flanged spigot 22 is inserted and drawn against neck 13 by tightening nut 28 on bolt 27. A number of elements are mounted on one plate 23 and may be cleaning sequentially to permit expansion' without touching of adjacent bags. The bag has a star shaped lower end panel.
